Apricot Bars
For as long as I can remember, my mom has made apricot bars at Christmas. They are a family favorite and always go very fast. The kids also reach for them. You can use dried California apricots, or apricot preserves. She is a firm believer that the dried apricots must be from California, as the Turkish ones are far too sweet. You can find California apricots at Trader Joe’s or online. Oddly, they seem to be a rare commodity, compared to their Turkish cousins. ~ Kat
