Since it was a short week due to the Fourth of July holiday, interning at Marshall Communications was quieter than they were on previous weeks. The highlight of my week would be the lunch meeting Nancy and Emma invited me to at Front & Main, located in the Lockwood Hotel here in Waterville. If you know me, I love trying new restaurants, especially ones I like to call “aesthetically pleasing.” Front & Main has actually been on my list to check out, so when Nancy extended the invitation, I was thrilled. For anyone who has not been, yes it looks exactly like the pictures, and yes, the food is as good as it looks (and maybe even better!). During our meeting we discussed the audit I completed for Nancy’s podcast: The PR Maven® Podcast.
Last week, I learned how to write a case study for Marshall Communications, showcasing work we completed for The American Lung Association’s The Trek Across Maine event and results. I also learned how to complete a message map for a personal branding client, and I used our new social listening tool to compile visual data for a new client.
In addition, I completed monthly reports for a personal branding client, Marshall Communications social media and The PR Maven® Podcast. I also completed a Marshall Communications press release announcing my internship that will be distributed to local media outlets, so be on the lookout!
During my time here at Marshall Communications I have learned that public relations is a powerful way to build a brand, and I encourage you to look at how you can use public relations techniques to build your own brand.
Stay tuned next week to read about what it is like to be an intern at Marshall Communications, and what I am learning!
