Last week, I had the opportunity to distribute a press release about a client’s recent renovations that I wrote the week before to various local media outlets. Be sure to check out the release in the Lewiston Sun Journal, The Irregular and the Kennebec Journal and Morning Sentinel! The experience of seeing and learning all that goes into a press release from start to finish is truly accomplishing (especially seeing the release in local new papers!).
Last week, I posted the social media promotions to announce to launch of Episode 198 of the PRMaven® Podcast featuring Amber Lambke from Maine Grains, which was interesting to listen to and learn about how personal branding mixed with PR can make a business successful. I also pitched one of our personal branding clients to podcasts within their target market. Gaining media coverage through podcasts, although quite new, has proven to be an effective medium for reaching one’s target market and gaining a higher following. I am excited to see this client appear as a guest on these podcasts in the coming months. In addition, I uploaded one of Nancy’s recent Forbes’ articles to the Marshall Communications blog, created a PowerPoint template for a client, completed some researched for another Visit Maine landing page and researched a specific medium for reaching a client’s target market.
One lesson I have learned over the last week is the importance of personal branding, and how it can tie into a business to make them successful. As I mentioned last week, now more than ever, despite our heavily use of using technology to connect with others in a disconnected way, people want to see who is behind the brand, the name, or the product. Looking at Maine Grains, a gristmill based in Skowhegan that aims to support farmers and communities by providing organic grains, Co-founder and CEO Amber Lambke has proven her businesses success through conversation both online and in-person, and ultimately her personal brand.
Stay tuned next week to read more about what it is like to be an intern at Marshall Communications, and what I am learning!
