NMC to Present Pinterest Boot Camp in Augusta

AUGUSTA, Maine - On August 9, NMC will host a Pinterest Boot Camp to teach Maine businesses and organizations how to create an effective presence and reach different audiences on the newest and most visually-inspiring social media network. The boot camp will be held at the Senator Inn & Spa in Augusta from 10 a.m. - 12 p.m.

Whitney Moreau, Pinterest Boot Camp instructorNMC Account Executive Whitney Moreau will facilitate the dynamic session and cover what Pinterest is and how it works. More specifically, Moreau will discuss the platform's growth, benefits, strategies, and copyright concerns, and illustrate how both large and small brands in different industries effectively use Pinterest. Pre-registration for the event is required by Wednesday, August 1.

Moreau explains, "To date, Pinterest is the fastest-growing social media website. With more than 11.5 million users, the network drives more referral traffic than Google+, LinkedIn, and YouTube combined. From local to internationally-based companies, any brand with inspiring visual content and a well-developed strategy should take advantage of this booming social media platform."

Participants will be provided a copy of the presentation, an NMC Things to Do pad, light refreshments, networking opportunities with other business leaders and an opportunity to ask questions. Those in attendance will also be entered to win a gift certificate from the Senator Inn & Spa.

A portion of the boot camp's proceeds will be donated to LEAP (Life Enrichment Advancing People). Located in Farmington, LEAP is a private nonprofit dedicated to working with individuals with cognitive and intellectual disabilities.

On Wednesday, Sept. 26, NMC will also hold Beginner and Advanced Social Media Boot Camps at the Senator Inn & Spa. These interactive sessions provide attendees with techniques and information on how to encourage audience engagement through a variety of social media platforms. NMC Account Executive Greg Glynn and Interactive Marketing Manager Matthew Rideout will facilitate both presentations accompanied by NMC President and CEO Nancy Marshall.
