BATH, Maine - Last Saturday, Interactive Marketing Manager Matthew Rideout of Nancy Marshall Communications (NMC), provided a "Social Media 101" presentation to 18 members of the American Society of Travel Agents at the Hampton Inn in Bath.
Tailored specifically for the American Society of Travel Agents attendees, the presentation provided travel-related social media examples, including how to use Facebook Insights, tips on effectively sharing travel photos through Pinterest, and techniques on how to encourage engagement through other social media platforms including Twitter and YouTube. Attendees were also given the opportunity to ask questions.

Celebrating its twentieth anniversary, NMC is Maine's largest PR firm offering strategic communications planning and implementation. Based in Augusta and with expertise in the travel and tourism industry, the full-service agency offers public relations, marketing, and Web strategies and services to a variety of clients.
"In recent years, social media has become a major component of a business's marketing approach," said Interactive Marketing Manager Matthew Rideout. In his role as interactive marketing manager at NMC, Rideout specializes in the development of social media strategies for the firm's variety of clients. He also formulates strategies for and assists in the execution of marketing projects involving an interactive experience for the end user, or two-way communication between an organization and its public. He is an expert at connecting research-driven marketing initiatives to measureable goals.
In April, Nancy Marshall Communications hosted a Social Media Boot Camp at the Senator Inn & Spa in Augusta. The interactive boot camp, divided into beginner and advanced sessions, provided information to organizations looking to increase their social media presence.
