Keeping up with the Joneses, Social Media Enthusiast
Megan Crowder learned how to swim before she could walk. She went straight from a swimming pool and into the world – with enthusiasm! Athletics and personal fitness play a key role in Megan’s life, and her competitive nature helps her succeed in and out of the swimming pool.
Megan is as passionate about staying on top of the latest social media techniques as she is about embracing a new fitness challenge. At NMC, she makes the most of her niche as an account coordinator by diving deep into each client’s social presence and making sure every platform is being used to its full capability.
Growing up, Megan was intrigued with many aspects of life. She tried every sport possible in high school: bicycle motorcross, hip-hop, jazz, gymnastics, tap, ballet, cheerleading, softball, track, swimming and volleyball. Megan’s curiosity and determination led her to stick to swimming but also taught her to have an open mind and minimal fear. Megan was drawn to PR in college because of its diverse nature and fast-paced environment. She maintained internship positions in sports, nonprofit and health-related organizations while pursuing team competition throughout her collegiate career.
After college, Megan was determined to set out for a new adventure, which led her to NMC. She packed her PT Cruiser with as much of her stuff as she could and set out on her Maine adventure.
With a strong background in social media, she focuses on social listening as a tool to increase a client’s brand awareness and engagement, and has recently received her certification in social media marketing from Hootsuite. Megan also works with the NMC Marshall Plan® team from start to finish, assisting with discovery meetings, conducting research and developing social media audits and tactics.
Megan can be found after hours at the local YMCA, teaching swim lessons, swimming, or lifeguarding. Megan also loves exploring Maine and New England, and she loves to hike, bike, read, kayak, practice yoga and spend time with her 20-pound Maine Coon cat, Oberon.
