The corn maze found its home in the land of agritainment when farmers realized the fun of getting lost in a field of corn. Mazes of maize reaching eight feet tall and covering 10 acres can be found on more than a dozen Maine farms in September and October. Here are a few locations for some corny fun.

AUGUSTA, Maine - Twenty-two light stations plan to participate in the fourth annual Maine Open Lighthouse Day, happening rain or shine on Sept. 15. Coastal, island and river lighthouses will welcome the public for tours and special activities.

Add some spook to fall activities with one of these fun and informative tours. Take a stroll with Wicked Walking Tours in Portland to learn about the resident once cursed by witches, a ghostly pirate ship, and the city's haunted house that Stephen King wrote a story about. One-hour day and evening tours are offered mid-September through Halloween.
